Communal First Saturdays @ 3:15pm
Join us in this powerful devotion that Our Lady has requested since 1917. She wants us to spread this devotion to the entire nation. We have it in our own parish. Come and bring a friend.
As part of the activities associated with the devotion Communal First Saturdays, Father Clint will bless and distribute the Brown Scapulars this coming First Saturday, August 3, 2024, after the meditation on the mysteries of the rosary (approximately 6:15 p.m.).
It is strongly recommended that you read the pamphlet "The Brown Scapular" which can be found free on Communal First Saturdays' website at www.communalfirstsaturdays.org . This is necessary for your preparation to receive the Brown Scapular.
Our country and nation is in tremendous need of prayer. Wearing the Brown Scapular will give honor to Our Blessed Mother. It also reminds us to reflect consciously on the meaning of our Baptism. We can gain protection from Our Lady and build a world true to God's plan of community, justice, and peace.

“COMMUNAL FIRST SATURDAYS”
DEVOTION TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARYThis devotion consists of four (4) parts on at least five (5) consecutive First Saturdays of the month. However, it is important to note that this is an ongoing devotion which is done with the intention of reparation for the sins committed against Our Blessed Mother and for the conversion of poor sinners. This is all part of the Fatima message given to us and our church starting in 1917. It includes 2 parts: Consecration of Russia to Our Blessed Mother’s Immaculate Heart (completed in 1984 by Pope John Paul II) and the practice, spread, and establishment of this devotion in all churches.
The four (4) parts include:- Confession within 8-20 days of the First Saturday (once/month).
- Rosary recited before the Mass (at 3:30 p.m.).
- Mass and Receiving the Eucharist in the state of grace (starting September 2, 2023).
- Keep Our Lady company for a fifteen (15) meditation on the mysteries of the rosary immediately after the end of the Mass using Scripture and Lectio Divina (approximately 5:35 p.m.).
This devotion is very important and essential to bringing peace upon the world and to stop the chaos that exists in the world today. We MUST do our part. It is the medicine that will act as a potent cure for all the ills of the world today.
There are two books that can be purchased from Amazon or other book stores:- Fatima and the First Saturdays, 2nd Revision, ISBN: 978-1-951233-03-7 (A study on the Fatima message and the First Saturdays) tells us of this devotion.
- The Communal First Saturdays Devotional (Power in Prayer Together), ISBN: 978-1-951233-02-0 (A guide for participation each month in the First Saturdays communally)
- www.CommunalFirstSaturdays.org, a website to sign up for a study group in September 2023 consisting of thirteen (13) weeks on zoom. You can choose your time to join a study group.
There will be a limited number of devotionals available to use if you haven’t purchased your Devotional by September 2023. These will be available for your use during the rosary and meditation but must be kept in the church for others to use the following First Saturday.
For those who are practicing this devotion, please keep in mind that this 4:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday will fulfill the requirement for the devotion, but not your Sunday obligation which can be completed the following day on a Sunday .
