Ministry Description
Work at your tasks in due season, and in his own time God will give you your reward. (Sirach 51:30) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)
The Altar Society is charged with the important task of aiding in the care of the Church and its appointments and to assist the pastor in spiritual and material undertaking for the welfare of St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal. Members of the Altar Society should always hold their service to the Church with great respect.
The unity of the Church is being built up with the assistance of the Altar Society. That same desire for unity should mark the manner in which our meetings take place. May our meetings bring us to greater love for one another…and if they do not, let us close the meeting and go home…for nothing will bear lasting fruit until, and unless, we are united in mutual charity.
Activities- To promote social fellowship among its own members and with other ladies of the parish in the social and spiritual gatherings that raise interest and monetary support of parish needs.
- Church Keeping - To aid in the care of the church
- Cleaning of Altar Linens and Purificators
- Fund the cleaning, repairing and purchasing of Vestments
- Bereavement - provide a bereavement meal after a funeral, if requested
